Native Range: Extreme to S.Ontario to Vermont, south to central North Carolina, west to NE Oklahoma, and north to S Iowa; to 1000 Ft.
Habitat: In nearly pure stands on poorly drained wet sites, including clay soils on level uplands; less common on deep, well-drained bottomland soils.
Uses: The most widely used native oak for landscaping. It is one of the most popular shade trees.
